What a listing is
A listing on the directory page is a short card of facts about your demo, written in the terms buyers use on this site:
- What kind of demo it is: a self-serve sandbox, a click-through tour, or a trial on the visitor's own data.
- What it asks first: nothing, a registration the visitor completes alone, or a request you approve.
- What happens to what they type: whether the workspace is private, how long it is kept, and whether the demo sends email.
- What your demo cannot show, in your words. Buyers trust a vendor who can say this, and it saves you calls from people the product will not suit.
- A link that opens your demo directly, and one to your product site.
We do not embed your demo, copy your screens or host anything of yours. The card links to the demo where you run it.
Who can be listed
- Business software. Products sold to companies. We began with the industries we know best, which are logistics, warehousing, manufacturing and fleet maintenance, and listings in other fields are welcome.
- A demo a visitor operates. A sandbox, a tour or a trial that somebody can start from a public web address. A recorded video or a "book a demo" form alone is not a demo in the sense this site uses.
- Honest gating. Asking for an email address is fine and so is approving requests. The listing will say which, so that a visitor knows before they click.
- A request from you. We list a demo only when someone with the authority to speak for the product asks us to. We never build a listing from a vendor's public pages and ask afterwards.
What we check
Before a listing is published we open your demo ourselves and go through the first sections of the checklist. Every fact on the card is then marked one of two ways:
| Mark | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Checked by us | We saw it ourselves on the date printed on the card |
| Stated by the vendor | You told us, and we have not been able to confirm it from outside |
Some facts can only be stated, such as how long a workspace is kept. That is normal. We send you the card before it is published, and nothing goes up without your approval.
We do not score or review the product. A listing says the demo exists, what kind it is and how it treats a visitor. Whether the product is any good is for the visitor to find out by using it.
The terms
- No charge. Listing costs nothing, and we take no payment for clicks, leads or placement.
- Alphabetical order. Listings are sorted by product name. No position can be bought or earned.
- Dated. Each card shows when it was last checked. If we can no longer open a demo, we tell you, and remove the listing if it stays unavailable.
- Your wording, within limits. The one-sentence description is yours, but it has to be a statement of what the product does. Superlatives and claims a reader cannot check are edited out.
- Removal on request. Ask and the listing comes down.
- A badge, if you want one. A listed vendor may show the Demo Checked badge on its own site, linked to its listing.
- We do not pass on visitors' details. We do not collect them. The link goes to your demo and what a visitor gives you there is between you and them.
If you compete with the publisher
This site is published by Cargovate, which sells supply chain software, and Cargovate's demo is in the directory, labeled as the publisher's. You may reasonably ask whether a competitor's listing would be treated fairly. The answer is in the mechanism and not in a promise: every listing is the same card with the same fields, the order is alphabetical, there are no scores to tilt, and you approve your card before it appears. Competing products are welcome on those terms.
What to send
Have these ready. It takes about ten minutes.
- The product name, your product site and the web address where the demo starts.
- The industry or industries the product is built for.
- One sentence saying what the product does.
- The kind of demo, and what a visitor has to do to get in.
- Whether each visitor gets a private workspace or shares one.
- How long a visitor's workspace or entries are kept.
- Whether the demo sends email or other messages to anyone.
- What your demo cannot show a buyer. Two or three things is usual.
- Your name, your role, and a work address we can reply to.
Email the details to sales@cargovate.com, Cargovate's sales team, which handles listing requests. Put "Demo SaaS listing request" in the subject line; the button below starts the message for you. We reply once we have opened the demo, with the draft card for you to approve.
Open your own demo as a stranger would, in a private window, and run the first two sections of the checklist against it. If the demo does not say what happens to a visitor's data, this guide explains why buyers look for that first, and adding one sentence to your entry page will improve the listing.
